We had a client who was injured in an auto accident. She started treating
with a chiropractor for neck and back pain. She did not have broken bones
or other serious injuries.
Before she was finished with her treatment, she was involved in another
accident.
The treatment following the second accident was a result of the combined
effects of the first and second accidents. Our office represented her for both
claims.
In the first case, we argued that although the second accident exacerbated
the injuries, she would have received the same treatment even if the
second accident had never occurred. We were successful in recovering the
full value of the case, including payment for all medical bills and
compensation for pain and suffering.
We thought we might not recover anything from the second case because
the insurance company for the first accident had paid for all the bills and all
the pain and suffering. However, we won the second accident also, and we
got full payment again for all the medical bills and the pain and suffering.
Amazing.
Initially, we estimated the full value of the case to be between $45,000.00
and $50,000.00. We ultimately recovered over $100,000.00.
